How To Live A More Fulfilling Life

As we get older we reflect more on where our life is going. 

Are you leading the life you want, or do you feel as though you are just going through the motions each day? Maybe you go to work to provide for your family, you come home and spend time with your kids and though your life feels full you feel as though something is missing.

You may be in a different situation altogether but still feel life is going by and you don’t feel like you have a real purpose for being. That feeling of There Has To Be More!

Find out what’s missing in your life

You may feel a bit guilty for feeling like this but you are not alone.  You may be surprised to know that thousands of people feel the same way. They love their families or know they are fortunate compared to many but they just can’t put a finger on what it is that is missing.

To really feel as though you are living your life completely you need to feel fulfilled. That can mean different things to different people, it’s a personal thing. Feeling fulfilled leaves you with a sense of pride and accomplishment. You are more satisfied each day and it shows in your actions and your thoughts.

So just what does it take to fulfill our lives?

If you’re not someone that asks the important questions of yourself it’s more difficult to find the answers. It’s surprising how many people have never been asked or thought about ‘What Do YOU Really Want? This is a good place to start. When you know what you really want only then you can begin going after it.

The first step to fulfilling your life is to start changing the way you think and your outlook on life in general. This is a huge change and one that isn’t  achieved over night. Changing your mindset is something that takes time and is a process that needs to be worked on step by step every day.

What’s working in your life and what is not?

It’s always a good idea to write things down. Start with what’s working in your life and what you want to keep and what’s not working that needs to change. You may not be able to change everything but little things can make a big difference. An easy way to start is to begin to pay more attention to what you are really thinking. Listen to what that little voice inside your head is telling you! You may find that you have a lot of negative thoughts which are responsible for the way you feel. Negative thoughts can really bring a person down, sometimes even causing anxiety and depression.

If you discover that your thoughts are more negative than positive then this is the first area you want to work on. Are you feeling resentful about certain things, why is this. Can you do something to change this?

Build yourself up, don’t put yourself down

You can begin to adopt a better mindset by thinking and saying good things about yourself. Focus on your achievements not on what you consider your failures. Try using positive affirmations and focusing on something that you excel at.

Just the step of admitting that you do tend to think negatively is a major accomplishment. Just acknowledging this fact is huge, so congratulations! Now your job is to immediately start working on replacing a negative thought with a positive one.

Become happier and be in more control of your life

Once you allow yourself the freedom to think in a positive way, you will automatically feel happier and in more control of your life. This leads to you feeling more fulfilled each day. You will feel as though you have a purpose each morning and more likely to end the day knowing that you lived your life that day in the best way possible.

Feeling fulfilled really does begin in your own mind, you can’t just be given fulfillment like a gift, you have to find it for yourself. So start noticing all the things that are going on in your life and around you, take action to change the things that you can and your mindset and life will change for the better.
