We cannot avoid getting older it’s something we have to accept so worrying about being over 50 will only create more of those wrinkles  and lines the very ones  that we want to banish. The important thing to remember is that you can be fabulous over 50 even with wrinkles and fine lines on your face.

Have you noticed how as we get older we start to pay far more attention to those extra lines that appear around our eyes and mouth areas?   We even make a point of checking them out with those awful magnifying mirrors that are sure to bring them to our attention even when others don’t notice them.

There are probably times when you feel and even look older than at other times.   These are usually the periods when you are not taking care of yourself, when you have too many late nights, and  too much stress. Regardless of the fact that you may be just over 50 sometimes you fell art least 10 years older.  When this happens you feel less confident about the way you look. Also when you are feeling more tired and lack energy it tends to drag you down.

There are a number of things that you can do to increase your confidence and self-esteem. With a little pick me up and a bit of effort you can still look and feel fabulous even if you are over 50.

You only have to look at magazines or watch TV to see some  amazing women and men that are over the age of 50. Many of these celebrities look better now than they have ever have. With age and maturity often comes a more polished, serene and classy look. Of course most of the celebrities have a lot of help with the right makeup, hair style and wardrobe.

The chances are that you are more strapped for cash than they are but this doesn’t mean to say that you have to give up the idea of looking fabulous over 50. There are still a number of things that you can do that don’t have to cost a lot. Looking and feeling fabulous starts on the inside and works its way out.

Eating healthy and regular exercise is always recommended regardless of age buy is especially beneficial for those over 50 as it will help keep a number of health issues at bay. Healthy eating and physical exercise is the foundation of looking and feeling good at any age. When it comes to makeup you can learn to do your own and still get that professional look.  There are a number of books and videos available to show you exactly what you need to do and how to make up in a way that is age appropriate. Getting a good hair style that suits you will definitely enhance your appearance; that alone can take years off you.

Unless you are already very aware of what looks good on you once you are over 50 and what you should stay away from when it comes to your wardrobe; it is advisable to get help from someone that does. Take someone shopping with you or at least sit down with them and get some advice  on styles and colors that would be right for you.  You may already have what you need in your closet and just adding some accessories would do the trick.

It’s so easy to get stuck in the same style of clothes and shoes that are comfortable but that do nothing towards helping you look great.  Again, you don’t have to spend a fortune on your wardrobe. There always seems to be good sales on these days, plus there are many consignment stores as well as lots of great deals on eBay when it comes to clothing and accessories.  The main thing is to find style and fashion that is ideal for you now you are over 50. dressing ;like a teenager rarely work.

Something even more important than your clothing and makeup is your attitude. A good attitude and a friendly smile go a long way and definitely lights up a face. Being over 50 is a time to enjoy life not to become boring and dull. Have fun, be sociable.  When you are feeling good about yourself others will be attracted to you and want to be around you. That’s all it may take for you to be fabulous over 50!
