Rid Yourself Of Chronic Tiredness

Suffering from low energy and fatigue?

If you are feeling overcome with tiredness and fatigue I feel your pain as I’ve been just where you are…

There have been times when I’ve been so overwhelmed with tiredness that it was totally controlling my life.  No matter how hard I tried there were occasions during the day and early evenings when without my permission my eye lids would start to droop and eventually my eyes would just close.

My energy was at a low, my frustration was at a high and I felt hopeless about things ever changing. I had to keep going regardless as I had a family to take care of plus my work.

Feeling out of control

This problem had gone on for quite some time and I thought I had a real health issue that I was going to have to always live with. At a time when I was feeling pretty desperate something happened that changed my life, I discovered a solution to my problem. I don’t know what I would have done otherwise.

Adequate sleep is essential to your health and well being. It’s required to make sure your body functions at an optimum level. It also helps with your focus and learning.  Sleep is also linked to your life span. There are numerous reasons you need your sleep.

Are you sleep deprived?

This may seem like a silly question when you are so tired but there are those that feel that they are having a good night sleep yet are still feeling exhausted at the beginning of the day.  They wonder why they are still so tired as they struggle through the day with little energy leaving them feeling cranky.  So even though you may have slept it’s not the type of sleep you need to re-energize you.

What’s keeping you awake?

If you just know you are not getting enough sleep you have to consider why it is.  Is it someone that’s keeping you awake? If you have a baby it comes with being a parent and while challenging will get better. The best thing is to take a nap when you can, and when possible sleep when your baby sleeps so that you can make up for some of the lost sleep.  Maybe you sleep with a snorer,  you can’t get comfortable because you have a child sleeping in with you, or pet sleeping on the bed. Maybe your bed is just uncomfortable and you need a new mattress or pillows.

For many people it’s an overactive mind that keeps them awake. Late at night when all is quiet the mind decides to take over. Those pesky little gremlins show up and are right there at the front of the line with all the things you can worry about.   All sorts of thoughts creep in wanting your attention.

When you recognize that you do have an overactive mind and can’t relax try these tips

  • Don’t eat late at night, leave a few hours between eating and going to bed. Some people suffer from acid reflux and end up spending hours tossing and turning. Also be careful what you do eat especially later in the day.
  • Try to slow down and relax a bit before going to bed
  • Stay off the computer (or whatever your choice of device is) late at night, this just stimulates the brain.
  • Caffeine can affect sleep for many. Try cutting it out later in the day
  • Don’t have a tv in the bedroom…this is another stimulant.
  • Try meditation or listen to some relaxing music or sounds before going to bed
  • Don’t exercise late

Millions of people have sleep disorders

The bottom line is that there can be numerous reasons for not getting the sleep you need that are not related to a sleep disorder. Apparently there are over 40 million people in the US thought to be dealing with chronic sleep disorders. The most common of these are insomnia, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome and narcolepsy.

Fortunately I did find a great natural solution for tiredness. I started noticing a difference very quickly and it saved my sanity!
