Do you have an alternative Retirement Plan set up?

Are you in turmoil about your future and what will happen in your retirement years? With retirement options becoming fewer by the day it’s no wonder so many seniors are confused and worried about what their future holds. By this time of life what you really hope for is peace of mind, time for relaxation and some fun, not to be burdened with worrying if you can afford to even live into old age.

Financial concerns getting you down?

If you already know that you don’t have enough funds to carry you through you’re bound to spend more than a few sleepless nights wondering how you can make up the financial short fall. And if you are fortunate to still have a job and are healthy enough to continue to work, will you end up really having to work till you drop whether you want to or not?

Can you fulfill your retirement dreams ?

Many seniors have looked forward to their retirement to finally fulfill some of their own dreams, to do some of the things that they haven’t been able to do while they were committed to raising families and had work responsibilities. On a positive note many of today’s seniors are very active and in good health, they want to have an active retirement are open and ready to experience new adventure now that they do have the time. It’s a fact that not everyone expects or wants a lot out of life, when they get older it doesn’t change especially the desire for too much excitement. Some seniors are actually content to sit back and relax a bit, watch TV, do some reading and other than the bare essentials little else is needed for the rest of their life. The big question is “What do you want?”

Good Health means a lot!

Regardless of anything else you may want out of life I do believe that everyone wants to be healthy, and yet we know that health challenges are most likely to burden us the older we get. Joints wear out, knee and hip replacements are common among the aging, foot problems are much more common over the age of 60, each one of these issues can certainly cramp your style and affect your activity level. There are numerous health issues that can arise so health care is always a concern and finding the best care can be very costly which causes a lot of extra stress for retirees that don’t have adequate medical insurance.

Health insurance payments are the largest monthly expense for many people in the US

Taking care of yourself will help to alleviate some of the problems and to be pro active in finding ways to be more responsible for your own health is the place to start. You have to weigh out all the options open to you because health is so important and living in the US has its drawbacks especially when it comes to affordable health care. It’s at the top of many people’s list of concerns and one of the biggest expenses. So much so that many choose to move to a country that offers good health care at an affordable price or at least forced to seek healthcare in other countries.

Would you consider living in another country?

There are a number of reasons why people choose to move to another country to live out their retirement but one of the main reasons is affordability and being able to have a better quality of life. It’s always a huge decision to make a move like this as most of us do have family and friends that they will be leaving behind, but often the benefits outweigh the negatives. And a big plus is that in this day and age technology has made it simple and affordable to stay in touch with family and friends wherever you are in the world. Travel has become a part of most people’s lives so family and friends often take advantage of being able to visit for their vacation.

Have you watched your savings evaporate?

So many people have forcing them to take a good look at what options are available to them and just how far they are prepared to go to maintain a decent standard of living. Nothing is perfect, no place is perfect, there are always sacrifices to make so you have to consider what you can live with. Weigh up the pros and cons.

When social security no longer covers the basics

Many thousands have already made the choice of moving to another country whether it’s full or part time because they discovered among other things that Social security no longer covers the basics and something had to change. Moving to another country isn’t for everyone so if you know it’s not for you look for other options. How much more can you downsize and cut back?

Hobbies or interests whatever you want to call them it doesn’t matter, what does matter is that we should all have them, especially as we get older and don’t have quite so many things to fill our lives. In fact we need hobbies and interests to keep us from getting bored and uninteresting as well as bringing us pleasure and keeping our brain active.

Most of us will have tried some form of hobby at one time or another even if it was a short lived endeavor. When we don’t stick with something, it’s usually because it’s just not that interesting or important to you. Sometimes it’s just not been the right choice of hobby and other times it may be due to lack of time or money.

Learn what you need to know

Finding a hobby that is a good fit for you should be so much easier now, after all, with the internet it’s easy to research on whatever you’re interested in. If you don’t have the know-how for the hobby you’d like to take up there’s nothing that you can’t learn. The investment required for learning many new skills has become more affordable and available plus the convenience of being able to learn many things in your own home if you want to. An added benefit is that learning on line or by DVD/video this way you often get some of the top professional instructors that you would probably never be able to afford or have access to before.

Remember hobbies should be fun too!

How many hobbies have you tried in the past? When I was a kid I did what many kids were doing at the time and that was building a stamp collection and swapping some with friends. Another favorite of mine back when I was around 8 or 9 years old was making plaster of Paris models in little rubber molds and then painting them. It was always a thrill to remove the rubber mold and to actually find the model intact, whether it was the rabbit’s ears were actually attached to its head, or the model actually had its head or arms attached. Then there were marbles and seeing how many different types and colors you could collect and then try not to lose your favorite marbles either in a game or down the drain.

Those were fun kid things but besides those I took piano lessons, but not for long, as this was to keep my parents happy and not because it was what I wanted to do. No wonder it was so short lived. We would swim, climb trees, play our version of tennis, and roller skate etc. I learned to knit and sew mostly inspired by the fact that I could make some of my own clothes, which was a real plus back then. Money was scarce and new clothes were a luxury that we didn’t get very often. As we get older we leave most of that behind and then what? What hobbies did you have as a child?

A hobby not an obsession

Some people take their hobbies very seriously to the point it becomes more of an obsession. Personally, I don’t know what this is like I can’t think of anything that I’ve been that committed to but I do know people that are so obsessed by their specific hobby or interest that it affects their family. They let it take priority over their family and anything going on within it. Personally I don’t see how this can be healthy and could end up being very destructive. Finding a healthy balance in all areas of life is important.

Do you have a hobby that you enjoy, that brings you pleasure? If you don’t have a hobby already or one that you actually enjoy then maybe it’s time to find one! The important thing is to have fun with it and the best way is to find one that is just right for you. Too often people will decide to take up a hobby that a friend or family member has, but this doesn’t always work. If it’s not your thing you won’t get passionate about it and it could end up that you will start finding excuses not to do it.

The cost of having a hobby

Some hobbies can incur start up costs and some they have ongoing expense so you need to be careful that you don’t invest a lot of money in something that you discover after a few times that it’s not the hobby for you.

Find something that you always wanted to do and have fun

As you get older and maybe have more funds available for yourself it’s the perfect time to do something that you’ve always wanted to do, whether it’s to play a guitar like a rock star, take up kayaking, gourmet cooking or ballroom dancing. Perhaps you want to become a better photographer and use that skill to do travel photography or whatever your interests are. The main thing is to have fun and enjoy your special hobby.

Another year begins and in a way it’s a chance to wipe the slate clean and an opportunity to decide what we want the coming months to hold. We should always be consciously planning and setting goals that will keep us on track and living life the way we want but most of us don’t. Although most goals set at New Year will soon be forgotten it really is a good time to make change.

There are always lots of articles and talk about New Year’s resolutions at this time of year and for many it’s only when the busyness of the holiday is over that some with serious intentions can actually take the time to clearly focus on what they want. So, if you missed the Jan 1st deadline that is just fine because now is as good a time as any to set some worthy goals for yourself.

Are you good at following through on your goals? Some will see projects through to the end but more have a habit of setting goals only to have them go by the wayside before January is out. Most of us are great starters but not good finishers. We are full-steam ahead and totally motivated at the beginning but soon lose steam and end up not reaching the finishing line and end up putting the same goals on our list year after year. Maybe this is the year to break that habit and get what you say you want.

How will you keep your resolutions this year? If you are already aware that you don’t have a good track record you are probably also aware that things come up that have taken you off course in the past and likely to do so again. Think about what those obstacles could be and find a ways to handle them when they do come up so that they won’t take you off course and sabotage your efforts.

Procrastination is one of the main causes of failed goals and dreams It holds people back from what they want. Procrastination like a number of other issues is emotional rather than mental. Talking yourself into doing something just doesn’t work, neither does willpower.

When you think about how our emotions affect us just consider the topic of weight loss. Why do so many of us have such a difficult time losing weight when we know what we need to do. There’s a ton of information available so no one could say they don’t have the knowledge. It used to be considered that people that had a problem losing weight had no will power. Some said they were just greedy and lazy people that ate too much. Then it was finally revealed that there is far more to it than that. The truth is that there are a lot of emotional triggers related to weight issues.and the reasons why people have such a struggle losing excess weight, even though they are desperate to do so. It has become accepted that a lot of problems are actually emotional and telling someone to just do it is not going to work.

Procrastination means constantly putting things off, even when you know it’s something that you really want or need to do. This can create a lot of stress for you because what you need to do stays on your mind and to do list. It takes your focus, makes you feel guilty and stops you from enjoying your free time because you know there’s still something you should be doing or need to do. A great example of this is tax season. Many of us leave doing our taxes to the last minute and worry about it for weeks before hand rather than get it done and not feel the pressure and guilt.

If you want to lose weight you know that there are specific things that you need to do otherwise it won’t happen. If you want to become more fit you know that you are going to have to exercise more. Even though you really and truly want the results something stops you from doing what needs to be done.

You need to dig deeper and find out what is really stopping you. Ask yourself “What if I lost the weight how would my life be different” or “What if I made more money how would my life be different”? Do this process with whatever it is that you say you want and see what answers you come up with. Is there something you are unconsciously (not aware of) that is stopping you getting what you want? Check what you feel and not the first answer that comes to your mind as we are searching for the emotional blocks. Once you figure this out you will have a much better chance of success.

By the time we reach 50 and over most of us have already been searching for anti aging therapies to help us achieve a more youthful look. During the search for better skin. Some individuals have been fortunate enough to have discovered something that they find is helpful for their skin. There are many that have been using red light therapy for their aging skin with encouraging results and others are still a bit dubious and unaware of the benefits that red and blue light treatment may offer them.

Skin begins to change as we age

Of course like many other things about us our skin changes as we age. We tend to get more blemishes, age spots and rosacea, not to mention the dreaded wrinkles. More recently many have discovered that red and blue light therapy has shown great promise as they have made it a part of their regular skin regime. Some have found it really beneficial to their skin problems.

Stimulates the growth of collagen

Both red and blue light therapy can have a lot of benefits when used correctly. With the aging population skin is a big reasons that more mature individuals are interested in knowing more about led light treatment. One of the functions of red light therapy is to stimulate collagen production. It’s the breakdown of collagen and elastin that creates fine lines and wrinkles as we get older. This type of treatment could also assists with enhancing your skins cellular action as well as helping fade those dreaded age spots. and hyper pigmentation.

The key is to look young for as long as possible

It’s not always an easy task but we have to check out our options when t comes to skin care, because of course we want to stay looking and feeling as young as possible for as long as possible. Let’s be honest, when we look in the mirror and notice a few more fine lines, age spots or some type of skin blemish that wasn’t there before we would like to turn back the clock. Failing that most of us plan on trying our best to stop it in its tracks before it gets any worse. We are not prepared to give up without a fight hen it comes to our skin and trying to maintain a youthful look.

Wrinkles are a big deal, especially when they first show up.

Maybe others don’t even notice that you have an extra little wrinkle here and a fine line there but you do! Any change no matter how small or insignificant it may seem to others could be a big deal to you. Our skin is aging all over our body but the changes are particularly evident in the face. Maintaining the skins tone and texture is well worth the effort.

Red Light Therapy For Anti Aging

DPL Light Therapy Device

There are lots of products available on the market so much so that it can be really confusing to attempt to find the right one for you. When you first started to notice those fine lines and wrinkle’s you probably began right then trying out various products looking for a solution to your aging skin and ways to restore a more youthful appearance. A healthy lifestyle always helps, healthy eating, exercise fresh air, adequate sleep and no smoking will make a big difference to your skin, but a bit of extra help is probably required too. More and more people are opting for natural remedies they don’t want to take any more risks with their health by consuming anymore synthetic or harsh products internally or externally.

When acne is a problem

Striving for good clear skin is a lifelong challenge for so many of us. Acne is a huge problem for a staggering number of people regardless of age. Bacteria on the skin is one of the primary contributors of acne which is especially challenging for the young. Many have found it difficult to find an effective acne treatment. Even as they get older many people are still plagued with acne on their face, backs and other areas. This is where blue light therapy can assist as it kills the bacteria that is causing the acne.

Nobody’s Perfect we all have flaws

We all have something about ourselves that we would like to change and I am no exception. I was always very fortunate in having clear skin, that is until I reached my 50’s. As a teen I didn’t suffer with bad skin like many of my friends did. I got the odd spot once in a while but that was all. So when I reached my 50s and found that I was starting to get skin blemishes and was starting to pay for the sun tanning of my younger years with sun damage it was a bit of a surprise. Probably like most of you I started checking into what types of treatment and remedies that are available for my aging skin. It was during my search that I came across phototherapy light treatment. I discovered that while it may not be for everyone a lot of people are seeing positive results using this treatment. Using red light therapy for anti aging and blue light therapy for acne the reported results on improved skin texture and tone appear to be very favorable.

A relatively new option in the skincare industry that’s growing in popularity

Red light therapy anti aging skin .

Phototherapy is still relatively unknown to a lot of people but it is one of the fastest growing areas in the skin care industry. It has been used in clinical settings for more than a decade and is showing to be a safe and effective treatment for acne and other skin problems. Scientists from around the world are recognizing the benefits of phototherapy for skin healing.

What is light therapy?

It was NASA scientists that first researched the power of LED (light emitting diode) the technology of photo light with plants cells and later discovered it produced a similar effect on human cells. Because of our skins ability to absorb infrared light it becomes an energy source able to stimulate cellular regeneration. It can help take years off your looks by reversing and controlling the visible signs of aging. Knowing that this treatment is now available to the general public is one thing, but the good news is that now you are able to get it at an affordable price. There are exclusive laser clinics that you can go to for treatments which may be great for some people but for others it may not be affordable or convenient. The great thing is now you can have your own red or blue light therapy device to use at your convenience at a fraction of the cost.

There are a number of great portable and safe red and blue light therapy devices that you can choose from with a range of price tags. There’s also a lot of positive feedback available. It really depends on what your needs are and affordability. You may want to check out the EVIS MD Platinum Light Therapy Systemto address fine lines, crows feet and other aging issues, or the popular Baby Quasar photo rejuvenation Light Therapy Red that recommends the product for fine lines, wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation and other skin issues. If a hands free device is of more interest to you there is the DPL Deep Penetrating Led Light therapy. It has a dual purpose with benefits for both skin care and rejuvenation as well as for use on sore muscles, joints and tissue. The DPL deep penetrating light therapy device comes highly recommended. It is larger than the other devices mentioned but covers a larger area at one time plus you don’t have to hold it while doing the treatment.

A very popular easy to use and probably one of the least expensive devices available on the market is the ANSR BEAM. It is well priced and like the other devices mentioned here it offers a way to rejuvenate and treat the surface of the skin safely, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, improves skin texture, reduces pore size, and redness. With this particular device you do have both the blue light which kills acne causing bacteria, plus the anti aging Red light all in a compact size unit. The ANSR beam is a very easy to use home facial system that can be used at your convenience, it’s size makes it easy to take it with you when you travel so that you don’t have to miss out on a treatment. The great thing with all of these devices is that you can use them in the comfort of your own home.

How to use the ANSR Beam

To use the BEAM you just have to slowly glide the light back and forth over the area you wish to treat. For the treatment with the blue light for acne you push the ON button once, the treatment lasts for 5 minutes. For the anti aging Red light treatment you push the on button twice, this treatment also lasts for 5 minutes. The BEAM will turn off automatically once the 5 minutes is up. The Beam can be used daily. You could start to see results within the matter of weeks.

Some patience is needed for results

As with most treatments these light therapy devices will not work over night. You have to be committed to using it on a regular basis and be consistent with the treatments. Just like taking on an exercise program you can’t do it once and expect life long and amazing results. Patience is required so you have to decide if it’s worth it to you. It’s not going to be the answer for everyone as people experience different results . However in all probability some dissatisfied users of these and similar devices are because they have not used the device as directed and or quit the treatments too soon. While this is not always the case remember to have patience and don’t expect miracles.

Give a Gift of Learning and Memories

Whenever it comes to gift giving for whatever the occasion it’s common that most of us are left scratching our heads wondering what to give our loved ones. For those of us that are older, especially those over 50, if you are like me you will probably recall it all very differently today than when we were youngsters. Many of us grew up in a time when Xmas and birthdays were about the only time you would receive any type of gifts. Almost anything would be appreciates and there were often real needs to be filled.

With Christmas fast approaching and it seems like it’s someone’s birthday almost every week the topic of gift giving is at the forefront of many minds, especially right now. And as one young mum recently said to me, these days it’s Xmas every day. This may seem a little bit of an exaggeration especially for some people but I think we all have a good idea of what she is referring to. People buy for themselves and receive things all year round, so when it comes to one of those special occasions finding the right gift is far more difficult because if it’s something the person really wants then the chances are that they already have it.

Even knowing this I think most of us go out on the hunt in the hopes of coming across something unique that the person in question may actually like, but it’s not easy. We all have such individual tastes in clothes, accessories, music and everything else.

If you have grandchildren you may already be aware of how things can change as they start to get older. There was probably a time when you were pretty much guaranteed to be a hit with any gift you gave them, what you got for them they would love. When they are older the chances of getting something they honestly love are slim, even though they may still say they love it just to keep you happy. This is when you have to ask what they want and just hand over the money or get the exact item, no more surprises.

So often the gift that you may spend a lot of time searching for, and even paying a lot of cash for could end up being set aside because it’s not to their taste. Naturally loved ones don’t want to offend you by asking for it to be changed and usually they have lots of other stuff anyway. Many people have reverted to giving gift cards in place of a gift but thousands of those never even get used which ends up being a complete waste of money.

So what can you do instead? It’s never going to be easy but think outside of the box and find something different. Some have taken to making a donation on behalf of another person. Buying a goat or helping with the cost of providing a well in countries in need. Or think of an experience that will be remembered either something they wouldn’t do for themselves or have done and talk about. Encourage an interest that could be a gift that lasts a lifetime think learn how to gifts. There are home courses on how to play an instrument, photography, sing, dance or paint. All these are great ideas because it’s something that can continue to bring enjoyment for years to come.

If Money Was No Object How Would Your Life Be?

This question really does bare some thinking about because it’s not one we would normally consider. How different would your life be now if back when you were younger still with most of your life before you, that money was no object when you were trying to make some of your life decisions? Where would you be now and what would you be doing?

There are a lot of people that live to an old age never really having lived the life they wanted, not even for a short time. Others have taken risks and gone after what they wanted, knowing that it’s now or never, some have not lived as long but they actually fully lived while they were here.

If money wasn’t a concern, it just didn’t come into the equation, what would you desire your life to be like now? You can’t go back in time but maybe you can make up a bit for what you’ve missed out on or been searching for.

When it comes to choosing a career most people go after the money, even though they may be selling themselves short, and more often than not they are not getting any fulfillment from what they are doing or getting any further ahead. It really doesn’t make sense to be doing things that you don’t like but the problem is most of us think there isn’t another choice or we are too old to change this is not to say that money isn’t important because money can help in many ways

Is it really too late to give up what you don’t want and go after what you always wanted? Some people do, it just takes some of us much longer to realize all the stuff we accumulate doesn’t amount to anything in the end it’s all about experiences and enjoyable ones at that.

There are those that decide to give up all the trappings that hold them hostage in their life for a simple life and freedom. They get to do the things that they want whether that is painting landscapes, sitting around a bonfire having a sing-a -long with friends, relaxing in a sunny location, surfing the waves or whatever their heart desires. They may drop out of the rat race and let go of their baggage but what are they getting in its place?

Maybe it’s time to stop letting other people get you to live their version of the world. Maybe you will be compelled to make more of the short life that we have

This video by Alan Watts is well worth the just over 3 minutes it takes to watch.

Whether you are a total beginner golfer, someone that’s getting back into golf after a break or looking for a great gift for a young girl or petite golfer you need to read this review. Having the right set of clubs like the golf girl petite club set that is just perfect for your size is a real advantage. Clubs that are too long for you can actually affect your posture and swing, this can be most discouraging and could totally spoil the game for you.

If you are under 5’4” or a beginner golfer this golf girl petite club set for the petite lady is definitely worth checking out. Sometimes it can be a challenge to find a great set of golf clubs that are a good fit, and if you do find a set that feels right you might expect that they would be more expensive, but this is not the case with these petite golf girl clubs.

If you are a petite lady golfer, new to golf or someone that is looking for a great set of golf clubs for your wife, mother, daughter, or any other petite female at a reasonable price you should check out this pink golf set. When you see what other users have to say you will see that this petite golf set come highly recommended.

This is what you get:

3/4 hybrid with graphite shaft

Putter

Deluxe cart bag

This is the latest set from Golf Girl and the petite golf girl clubs have some great features including the oversized driver that has the largest sweetspot legally permitted. The 3/4 hybrid is great for the distance shots plus the deep cavity back irons are more forgiving and easy to hit with. The deluxe cart bag is perfect for women as it is light weight and has plenty of pockets including a full length clothing pocket and a pocket for your valuables. On a personal note I’ve used graphite shafts for a number of years and I love my clubs with the graphite shafts, because of the lightweight material graphite is ideal for women.

The Golf Girl FSW2 Lady Pink Hybrid Club Set & Cart Bag is available in the US and in the UK . But if you happen to live in Canada you may have to check out alternative petite golf clubs sets.

Although this review is only on the Golf Girl FSW2 set I have provided a couple of alternative links for other petite golf sets at the end of this review for those that cannot access the golf girl clubs which I hope will be helpful.

Following is a sample of buyer feedback on the golf girl golf club set.

I bought this set for my wife for Christmas last year. I was hoping that it was just OK as the price is so reasonable. Imagine my surprise when we got it and it is a great set. Nice balance and really an exceptional buy. I can’t figure out how they can sell these clubs so reasonably. Buy it you won’t be disappointed. My wife is a new golfer and she hit the ball well right from the start. And I think the reason is the clubs are made well. I hit her 3 wood and really got off a good shot. Very impressive – a great buy. A very good starter set.

My husband bought these for me as a starter set. Very nice clubs and bag. If you are under 5’4″ you will love these .

I received the clubs and so far I’m loving them. I think they look great, and I’m learning to golf with them……love the driver! I think this is a great starter set and my golfer husband says it was a great deal. He was impressed with them also.

I purchased these clubs based on a review and Boy Oh Boy am I glad I did!!! These clubs are the sweetest! They are light weight and nicely balanced. The first time I used them I dropped 9 strokes! I would recommend these clubs to anyone, beginner or experienced. You won’t be disappointed.

I am a newbie to golf and just wanted an inexpensive set of clubs for a petite person. This set is of great quality and fits the bill. The bag is very attractive and durable as are the clubs. I am very happy with this purchase.

These are too cute!! I brought these golf clubs I wanted to be more active outside. I started taking golf lessons. I’m 5’1 1/2″ and I weight about 105 lbs. These golf clubs are light weight. There are pockets everywhere so there is no need for you to keep your keys in your pocket while you are the driving range.

love these clubs! They are soo girly and much prettier in person! LOVE! I can actually get distance and they are in good quality. I am a first time beginner and these are perfect! Now for lessons…

I am getting ready to start playing golf, but at this point I have only been to the driving range with my husband. I am 5′ 3″ tall, and these clubs are just the right length for me. My husband plays a lot of golf and he hit with them, and said that they were really good clubs, and the price was just an added bonus. I did very well with them at the driving range, and am looking forward to actually playing golf soon. I also like the color of the bag, and the covers that came for the drivers.

I have been a golfer for 30 some years. Had custom made clubs twice. I haven’t been playing as often as I used to and the $800 clubs are worn out. I thought I would purchase a bag and when I came across this set with clubs included. I decided to read the reviews. Due to the great reviews. I purchased the set. I was so surprised. The bag itself is great. Doesn’t look cheap, has all the pockets you need. It has sections for the clubs that continues the whole way to the bottom of the bag for protection. Unlike my more expensive bag. I took the clubs to the driving range last night. Don’t feel any different than my Taylor Made clubs. Well, worth the purchases, new golfer or old (as myself) golfer.

From these reviews I think you’ll get a good feel for what other buyers are saying.

Making These Mistakes Can Cost You Big Time!

We all make mistakes and most of them we tend to learn from. However, as you get older there are certain mistakes that you do not want to make because they can be very costly and I’m not talking about money I’m talking about something more important – Your life!

The chances are that you are reading this because you’re heading towards or are already over 50, shall we say in the 3rd phase of life. Like me you’re probably thinking more about your life these days and how things have played out. At times like this often comes the realization that you are not where you thought you would be at this time of your life, or maybe you are asking yourself “is this all there is?”

Some of you may have reached far beyond your personal expectation and are better off than you ever thought possible. Generally it’s the other way around, that you have not managed to achieve as much as you had hoped for, that you thought that you would be in a better situation than you are at this time of your life. You may even be feeling a bit discouraged by it all.

Maybe things haven’t gone as you had hoped.

Circumstances can arise that can turn our life upside down and inside out in a flash. These circumstances are often totally out of our control. We only have to see what happened during the massive storm that caused havoc in many other areas before it hit the New York, New Jersey areas very recently where nature once again took its toll on many lives. A large number of which will never be the same again. This is big scale devastation like others we have seen before, but there are the individual personal catastrophes that happen to people like us every day!

Constantly lives are changed,

Whether it’s a major development such as a hurricane, earthquake, tornado, Tsunami, volcanic eruption or by an accident. These can affect hundreds, thousands, or a few, it’s rarely an event will just affect one person alone because those we are close to will often be affected in some way too.

Each is affected individually and left to deal with their own personal loss in their own way. These losses may be a personal loss, for example when we lose someone we care about, a physical loss maybe our home to fire or flood, emotional loss when we break off a relationship or when a parent is diagnosed with dementia or Alzheimer’s and can’t remember who you are. There’s the financial loss that could have been caused by the bad economy which has swallowed up your savings and investments, or losing your job and therefore your income. There are numerous ways we can suffer loss.

There are a lot of things that happen that we have no control over.

Getting older certainly doesn’t come without its challenges. Besides the physical changes we notice in ourselves and others by the time we reach our fifties and sixties we will have had friends and family members pass away or that are dealing with serious health issues. It’s at those times most of all that we tend to think about our own mortality and what we are doing with our life. The problem is its usually short lived and rather than taking some positive useful action then and there we quickly revert back into our old ways and routine doing nothing to improve our situations

It’s a mistake to waste your good health and mobility.

You will never be younger than you are right at this moment so don’t wait for later! You may be reasonably healthy and fit now so make the most of that while you have it. There are things that you can do in your 50s that you may find you are unable to do in your sixties or seventies and beyond. Many people start to get hip and knee problems that can cause a lot of pain, often requiring joint replacement which if you are able to get it can leave you immobile for long periods of time. Yes, it can happen at a much younger age too but seems to be much more common in those in their sixties and seventies

During my 50s a lot of changes happened for me. My life took a different direction, but it was a good direction. I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed most of my fifties. I took the opportunity to do things that I used to enjoy, as well as some other things that I had wanted to do and hadn’t. I took control of my life and it felt great.

Don’t make the mistake of giving up!

The year I turned sixty while not all bad, life did become much more of a challenge. We suffered the terrible loss of a much loved young member of our family. It changed everything; in fact nothing has been the same since. While you don’t ever get over something like this, after a while as challenging as it may be you learn to adjust and go on or you will stay stuck.

It took a while before I got back to thinking that my own life is going by really fast and if there are more things I want to achieve or do I need to get on with it. I have always had the belief that you should do things while you are able as you never know when the options will run out. Don’t give up on your life!

Don’t make the mistake of wasting your valuable time

It’s a big mistake to waste valuable time putting things off for later because you never know what later will bring. Time is a funny thing it’s illusive and we use it for all sorts of excuses. We say we don’t have the time for whatever but the truth is ‘this is all the time you have’. You cannot manage time, you cannot manipulate it no matter what you do; you can only manage yourself and the way in which you use your time. Organize yourself to use your time wisely!

Learn to Paint at Home with the Learn and Master Painting Course

If you have ever wanted to create a piece of art that you would be proud to display in your home or maybe give as a gift to a loved one, it’s not too late to make it a reality. You may even create a demand for your art and make some extra income too. You may be amazed at what you can actually achieve with some professional training. The learn and master painting course can turn you into an artist if you so desire and are willing to put in the time follow through, so even if you don’t have the skills right now you can learn to paint and do it extremely well.

Don’t limit yourself with old beliefs

Many of us have old beliefs that stop us from doing things we want to do. Maybe somewhere you have heard that if you weren’t born with a talent then you couldn’t learn it. Well that is absolutely untrue! If you have that natural ability it is going to be easier but regardless you can do it too. You can learn to be a musician, to sing, dance and paint. There are many things that you can learn that you might be really successful at. Now that we have the lean and master collection by Legacy learning there’s nothing to stop you but you! No more searching for the right place to register for a class and trying to fit it into your schedule that is no longer a problem with these great learn at home DVD courses.

Bring out the artist in you!

Like many of you for years I was convinced that there is no way I could learn to paint or play an instrument because I wasn’t born with the artistic, talent gene, and because of this I was never encouraged to even try. Fortunately, beliefs and thinking can change and we now know that with the desire and commitment and right training anything can be learned and mastered.

Learn at your own convenience

Thanks to programs like the Legacy Learning-Learn and Master Painting Course it’s proven that anyone serious about learning and taking action can become an artist. And for those that already have some talent in this area and wish to excel they can use this course to improve dramatically by learning the specific skills that hold them back from reaching their full potential. You also have the advantage to learn to paint at home at you own convenience, at your own pace and repeat any lessons whenever you desire to.

Positive reviews and recommendations

I am a bit of a skeptic! I like to do my homework before I feel qualified to make a recommendation about something to others. I also want to make the best purchase and investment possible with the information I have. That is why I have actually own this paining course and others from the earn and Master series. I’ve had the opportunity to review this painting course first hand and other courses from Legacy Learning. My conclusion is that I’m very impressed with the quality of the training and also the presentation with these products. I’ve read a number of positive, credible testimonials on the Learn and Master Courses.

Once you hit 50 there are a new set of rules, although hopefully you will still be leading a full active life there are a few things to consider. This article talks about men over 50 and their biggest challenges.

Health – everybody needs to keep an eye on their health but for men over 50 in particular there are certain things to be aware of.
