Few of us like traveling alone and yet there are so many single people today many of us have done so at some time. Considering the demographics and an ever increasing demand more over 50s and singles cruises and vacation options are available. If you’ve always had someone to travel with before and now facing the prospect of going alone you may find it a daunting prospect . You probably have a lot of concerns too. But these days you don’t have to go it alone and you can let someone else like the best singles travel agents do all the trip planning for you.

If this is all new to you once you see how many options there are you’ll discover that when it comes to taking a vacation you don’t have to do what you’ve always done in the past. With so many options open to you now it’s time to choose what type of vacation you want and what you actually enjoy doing while you are on vacation. You need to decide if the idea of a single’s cruise appeals to you more or a vacation on land. Do you want to vacation in a US destination or international? Will be a relaxing getaway or action packed adventure?

Two single friends of mine both in their 60’s recently took a short vacation. It was a 4 day cruise and then 4 days in one destination. They didn’t actually choose a singles trip because they had each other for company but during this trip they did learn a lot about what they liked and didn’t like for future reference.

The cruise they took was with a cruise line which attracts an older group and it sounds as if this was certainly the case here. While they enjoyed it for the most part and met some really nice people one friend said she would have preferred more of a mixed group. She also felt that she would prefer to take a cruise with more activities that catered to her personal interests. This same friend is planning to go to Buenos Aries to take a tango workshop next year. So even when you have a friend to go on vacation with you may have very different interests and may decide to chose a vacation specifically designed to meet your personal interests.

If you are thinking about going on a singles vacation in hopes of meeting that someone special don’t put too much emphasis on this. The purpose of the vacation should be to have a good time and meet new people in your age group. It may just happen that you’ll meet Mr or Miss Right but don’t count on it. The fact is it seems to be that women usually outnumber the men in most things that are not sports related. Go with having a good time in mind whether it’s a singles cruise or other singles vacation then you probably won’t be disappointed.

There are as many different types of vacations as there are places to go so check out your options and give some thought as to what you would like to do. If you are an active type you may want to choose a vacation with lots of physical activity. If you are not that active you don’t want to be worrying if you will be able to keep up with everyone else, so know your limits and stay within them if you don’t want to spoil your holiday.

There are vacations where you can go on wine tours, cooking classes in various countries like Italy which are great for someone that wants to learn to cook and enjoy the culture and food of another country. There are painting holidays and yoga vacations, the arts and culture. You just have to decide what type of vacation you actually want. Maybe you don’t want anything more than an opportunity to sit in the sun and relax by a pool or on a nice beach, or take a cruise that will give you all you need in good food, good company, entertainment and an opportunity to go to various ports of call if you choose to.

There are some on land trips that are available for the over 50s and active 60s. Keep in mind that you do need to be in relatively good health for many of these trips such as some of the Island hoping tours. When you go on vacation as a single person it gives you a great opportunity to meet others like yourself and make new friends. Often the tour company will set it up so that you can share accommodation with someone compatible to help with keeping costs more affordable. When it comes down to it you can choose pretty much any type of vacation for singles and if you are over 50. The main thing is to try something new and have a great time.

When we retire we have the luxury of waiting until the last minute to book our vacations. Often we are waiting for those “Last Minute Deals” because we feel that they are the best deals and we can leave at the drop of a hat.

Are Last minute deals really the best offer you can receive for cruise vacations? It has seemed that that is the case. However there have always been some great early booking discounts available as well.

When talking about cruise deals, the vice president of marketing for Avoya Travel / America’s Vacation Center, Jeffrey Anderson says “This year the lines are focusing on early bookings”. These discounts are offered for cruises booked in advance by 120 days up to a year.

When offering early discount offers the cruise lines seem to be concentrating on one cruise type at a time. They may have an early booking deal for a Caribbean Cruise one week. Then, two weeks later that deal is off the plate and Alaskan cruises are the focus.

It’s best to “jump in” when these offers are made. That way you can get the cabin that you desire and at a discounted price – the best of both worlds.

Prices do seem to be slightly higher this year presumably because of the Mega ships being able to command higher rates. However the value for your dollar is as good or better because of the enhancements that cruise lines are making to their products.

According to two of the large on-line cruise retailers this January has been their best ever. They are seeing strong cruise booking for November and December as well as April and May. One of these agencies is also experiencing fantastic sales for summer cruises.

These travel agencies are already seeing stateroom categories selling out. In some cases entire cruises are close to selling out.

One thing to be aware of is that travel agencies are booking entire block of rooms for their exclusive selling. Because of this they are allowed to offer specials or amenities the cruise lines are not offering. So in some cases you can get even greater value by booking through a travel agency than you would by booking directly with the specific cruise line.

Don’t forget to mention that you are Seniors. You deserve every break you can get!

When you find a specific cruise that you would love to be on, it’s best to get the benefit of a great deal – an early booking discount – and get the stateroom of your choice. In some cases you may even get upgraded to a higher stateroom category. How great is that? You get a deal on a fabulous stateroom and receive an even better stateroom than you paid for!

Find out more about cruises and cruise discounts at Discount Cruise Vacations. Check out the fantastic Caribbean Cruises, Alaskan cruises and discover some fabulous CruiseWear and Swim Wear.

If you are at the point that you are seriously thinking about living in Mexico then you have probably spent considerable time checking out where are the best places to retire. You want to know what the pros and cons are.

There is little doubt that there are some beautiful places in Mexico and what is more Mexico is a great place if you are looking for lots of sunshine. Let’s be honest the sun is something that most of us are looking for especially if you live in a place with long cold winters.

If you’ve been doing your research on places to retire for a while you will probably be aware that every year there are countries that are voted the best place in the world to live or the best place to retire.

Modern Mexico

For various reasons the results do change so one year it may be Panama that is voted the #1 choice another year it may be Ecuador, or Nicaragua, other years it’s Mexico. Even though Mexico may not be seen to be the cheapest place anymore it still remains one of the favorites.

Mexico has been voted the top place to retire many times over. One of the main attractions for retirees to live in places like Mexico is the opportunity to have a higher quality of living with a lower cost, making it affordable for many to live well on a fixed income. An opportunity to live with more for less, something most would not be able to do in their home country.

Mexico has had a lot of bad publicity over the last few years and it should not be ignored. However, Mexico is a big country with a large population and many of the problems related to the drug wars are located in or near the border towns but there are isolated incidents in other parts too. Even so statistics show that each year more and more people are going there for vacations and to retire.

With the economy so bad; especially in the US where many people are being forced out of the homes and losing their retirement savings is it any wonder that they are looking for less expensive options. Mexico is also ideally situated for many Americans and Canadians that want to go back and forth to Mexico or have family in these countries that they want to have visit. With regular and somewhat affordable flights still available plus the shorter flying time it is also one of the pros to be considered.

Another big factor is health care, especially for retirees. Obviously they will most likely start needing more health care as they age. Already there are thousands of Americans that go south of the boarder to get their prescriptions, dental work and other medical care. Between the high numbers of those without health care insurance and the expensive cost of prescriptions in the US is it any wonder that they want to cross the border to visit Mexico and make these huge savings.

Something for everyone

Some have said that they pay $125 for a doctor’s visit in the US and as little as $3 in Mexico. It can cost $350 and more a month for private medical insurance in the US which makes it impossible for many.
Over the border for those that can establish residency in Mexico they could qualify for Mexico’s IMMS government insurance for around $300 a year with no deductible. It is somewhat limited in regards to pre-existing conditions, often longer waits and maybe older equipment but at least it’s available. On the other hand if you are prepared to pay for medical treatment you can find fast quality care and state of the art facilities and equipment.

Whether you plan to live in Mexico or visit for a vacation its worth knowing about the thousands of Americans that are going to places like Puerto Vallarta for medical treatment that they could not otherwise afford. The treatments retirees and others are going to Mexico for include procedures like hip replacements that could cost them between $80,000-$120,000 for treatment alone in the US; and can be done for around $13000 including travel and medical expenses in Mexico.

There are many things to consider before you make that final decision to live your retirement in Mexico. Keep in mind that Mexico is not right for everyone. A lot will depend on your personality type. If you are a type A personality or someone that is short on patience and likes things done quickly it could be very frustrating for you. If you get stressed out easily when you are kept waiting, then Mexico or a number of other countries favored by retirees may not be the place for you. A sense of humor and the ability to accept things as they are certainly helps! Think about it most people are looking for change so if you want things to be exactly the same as you are used to; why are you thinking of moving anyway?

Watch the videos for more information related to health care in Mexico.

Maybe you have been confronted with the question “What’s the best city to visit in Europe?” or maybe it’s something you are asking for yourself. Personally, I have heard this same question numerous times, that’s why I have compiled this list of top cities in Europe that you might want to visit during your trip or vacation to Europe. When you retire this is something to add to your lists of to do’s, especially if you can take the extra time to really explore Europe and what it has to offer those of any age.

1) London, England
London is popular amongst tourists who don’t fancy being in a country where they don’t know the language. If you are on a budget, want to economize a bit and you don’t have money to travel beyond England, then a tour of London won’t disappoint. If you like strong theater and ale, a stop over in London is worth every penny. If you want to enjoy London, it’s best to visit from May all the way through October. Don’t forget to visit the British Museum, Tate Modern, Victoria and Albert Museum, Buckingham Palace and Westminster Palace. It’s pretty easy to get around with the London underground system. Most of the major tourist sites have a station close by. It’s also worth getting a guide book because many of the tourist spots are quite close together and you want to see as much as you can while there. If you can make it to the changing of the Guard it’s a wonderful photo opportunity. There are so many wonderful things to experience in the London area.

2) Amsterdam, Holland

If you love the “Dutch Masters”, then don’t forget to visit Amsterdam. Amsterdam is also popular among cyclists because of its rather flat surface. If you require chemical assistance, Amsterdam has free spirits for you.
The city is the cultural and financial capital of the Netherlands. It has a variety of interesting places to visit. Unfortunately, it can rain in Amsterdam at any time, but this should not stop you from visiting this wonderful city. If you like the sun, then travel in July and August during the peak summer season. Don’t forget to eat at an Indonesian rijsttafel. You can also stroll down the Historical canals up to the Royal Palace, Rijksmuseum. You may want to see the Anne Frank House and maybe you will also want to visit the Van Gogh Museum. Amsterdam also has its red-light district. Amsterdam attracts more than 4 million tourists every year.

3) Paris, France
Paris will suit you well if you are a starving artist. If you love traditional foods, then a stop over in Paris should do the trick. And all you lovers out there, why not ignite your love by visiting Paris situated on the banks of the River Seine. By the way, Paris is also great for all those wondering what the hell happens in Paris. Henry Miller fans have every reason to visit Paris. As usual, the best time to visit Paris is springtime. However, a visit during fall won’t disappoint either. Don’t forget to get an eyeful of the Eiffel Tower and drown in jazz at the Montparnasse. Some might also want to stray to the Pigalle’s sex museum. Paris is a shopper delight well known for its fashion, also popular for its media, entertainment and arts.

4) Venice, Italy
The beautiful City of Venice is popular with its automobile-free streets and just about anyone who wants to experience something truly different and pleasing to the eye. You will want to visit during the famous Venice Carnevale when the weather is rather cold and foggy. This is in February. Anything worth looking at is a good way to blow your dollars but don’t forget to snoop the distinction between the opulent Doge’s Palace and the spiteful prison located on the other side of the canal.
Venice is also known as the City of Water, The city of Lights and the City of Bridges. This will give a good indication of what you may expect to see in Venice. What would a visit to Venice be without a trip in one of the lushly appointed gondolas?

5) Florence, Italy
Florence is a great destination for art lovers and new start historians. It’s the most popular city in Tuscany. If you want to treat yourself or someone you love to a beautiful Leather Handbag then be prepared to spend some money, in Florence you will do just that. The city of Florence is usually nice during spring and fall. A popular attraction is at the Uffizi houses which house the premier collection of Italian Renaissance art. Don’t miss the Basilica of San Lorenzo located in the main market district of the City. Florence is a World Heritage Site.
6) Rome, Italy
Rome is the capital city of Italy also its largest city. You’ll be hooked on Rome once you set your eyes on it, you will want to return again and again. There is no shortage of architectural heirlooms to visit on your trip to Rome. The Colosseum is definitely not to be missed, then sit and enjoy an espresso while people watching at the sidewalk cafes. One of the best ways to enjoy the history of Rome is leisurely wandering the streets.

7) Madrid, Spain
Madrid has a wealth of attractions for the savvy tourist. The largest city in Spain located on the River Manzanares. Madrid is a wonderful city full of life all year around. And, like anywhere else, is most enjoyed in the warmer weather. But, be sure to pick your time to visit as they have scorching hot dry summers and freezing cold winters, with the coldest month being January and hottest months July and August. August is also one of the quiet months in the area where you may find some of the businesses closed. Try to plan to visit around the time of one of Madrid’s many Festivals. You can live the good life in Madrid with its many Tapas Bars, fine restaurants, and being entertained by its live music scene. If you want a lively and fun time you’ll enjoy your stay in Madrid.

Well, that wraps up my list of the best cities to visit in Europe. Of course, there are other smaller cities which offer even richer experiences, so this list is not exhaustive. Hope you found the information useful.

If you think that you are able to take care of the above the majority of over 50 individuals want to experience at least one special travel experience that they will never forget. If you ask me, I would place my bet on taking a trip of a lifetime would be pretty high on your list. Taking a trip of a lifetime is a type of experience that will forever stay with you.

You shouldn’t wait until you are old in order to take the trip of a life time. You want to go when you can really enjoy it and participate in a variety of activities. In fact, in your 50s and 60s, it’s a lot easier to have your dream adventure.

Some people choose a special anniversary or birthday to take a memorable trip of a lifetime, maybe for a 25th anniversary, 50th or 60th birthday or even to celebrate their new retirement.
The tips below will come handy if you are planning to take that very special trip.

• Before you even start making concrete plans, analyze your wants, desires and wishes first. Make sure that you are very clear on what you want. Having qualms and second thoughts about your special one off trip whether it is an Adventure getaway or a Luxury Vacation can derail everything. Go for what you really want and don’t be talked out of it by you or anyone else. Now you are over 50 you should be doing some special things for yourself and having some fun is one of them.

• If you want to have a memorable experience, then you really need longer than one week if it’s at all possible. Unfortunately, if you are still working a good number of jobs won’t allow for this. Sometimes, it’s not the job but the individual who delays the travel of a lifetime plan, hoping that he/she will one day get enough time. Obviously a week is better than nothing but while a week may be enough for a regular vacation, your trip of a lifetime needs ample time to really appreciate it. We all know that it takes a couple of days to acclimatize to your new found freedom and other changes from your daily routine. Your special trip is probably going to be costly so you want to make the very most of it.

• A trip of a lifetime usually involves a particular destination coupled with a number of startling adventures along the way. Write down a list of places that you have always wanted to visit together with a list of things that you have always wanted to accomplish. Then look for destinations which offer those experiences. If you accomplish something you have always wanted to do, the experience will be a far greater, exciting and unforgettable.

• Make a list and reflect on your actual options. Are you going with a spouse, a friend or family member? What are their interests and requirements? Not everyone will enjoy all of the same things. Maybe a Soothing Spa will be idyllic for one of the travelers where as an ocean fishing trip or para-sailing will be a monumental experience for the other person. It can be worked out with proper planning, while one is on their fishing trip the other is being pampered at the Spa. Get together in the evening for a gourmet dinner and entertainment. You can both get your needs met. Go over your plans carefully and work out what the estimated travel costs are.

• You have to be creative when thinking about what you want and the options available to you. This will determine whether it will turn out to be the trip of a lifetime or not. Take into account the weather of the destination you intent to travel to. Alaska can provide you with a wonderful opportunity to experience nature in its glory so maybe this is a cruise that you have always wanted to take. The weather is usually very nice during summer and if you stay a while you can participate in fun and exciting activities like camping and hitchhiking if that’s your thing. Morocco is rarely mentioned but it is a wonderful destination for an unbelievable trip of a lifetime. Maybe you want to consider booking your vacation of a lifetime with a company like Sandals Resorts where the only thing you have to worry about is what you’re going to enjoy next. Last Minute Deals are available at Sandals Resorts!

• Explore all the opportunities that you would consider a lifetime experience and cast out any doubts. The most difficult part is usually starting to take the action required to plan your trip. Once you get started you will pick up the momentum and before you know it you will be packing your bags.

Each year, millions of individuals, families and couples throng Hawaii to spend their vacation. It’s quite obvious why millions from around the world visit Hawaii given that many people have branded this beautiful place a paradise. While Hawaii trips are enjoyable, there are some vital travel tips that you have to consider if you intend to spend your vacation in Hawaii. With these travel tips, you are certain to enjoy your next Hawaiian vacation, regardless of the number of days you will take there.

Just like traveling to other destinations, the primary thing you will have to do is make adequate preparation for your trip to Hawaii. It’s paramount to appreciate air travel rules, whether you are departing from the United States or a different country. If you are arriving in Hawaii from main land- U.S, you don’t have to obtain a passport; though you will need a passport if you are visiting from another country other than the United States. Confirm that you have all the necessary identification prior to leaving for the airport. If you are not sure that you have all the necessary documents, get acquainted to what forms of identification are needed when preparing.

Besides air travel rules, you will also want to pack wisely for your Hawaii trip. The majority of Hawaii travelers blunder by assuming that they know what the weather will be like when they reach their destination. Fortunately, Hawaii is usually sunny and warm but there are no guarantees that it will remain the same when you arrive so you should check the long range weather forecast before you start packing for your expedition. Failure to pack the necessary clothing suitable for the weather may make your trip a rather an unpleasant experience.

Because you want to have a memorable experience during your Hawaii vacation, it’s paramount to place a spotlight on your vacation. Decide on the kind of activates you’d like to participate in and the places you will visit while there. Luckily, Hawaii has a variety of lots of fun adventures as well as some more quiet activities for those that prefer a more relaxed style. If you are looking for something quite romantic, the Hawaiian Islands have oodles of romantic activities suited for couples.

One thing you will have to focus on is your well-being when in Hawaii. Fun activities like snorkeling, scuba diving, hiking and mountain climbing can be dangerous at times so it’s advisable to go on a guided tour. A guided tour is particularly recommended for those visiting Hawaii for the first time. If you take safety precautions, your Hawaiian vacation will be filled with a lot of excitement that will live forever in your memory.

Besides thrilling adventures, a lot of Hawaii trips are filled with going to places of interest and shopping. It’s always a good idea to allow some extra room in your luggage to accommodate any goods that you may purchase. Hawaii provides one of the most wonderful shopping experiences so you will probably be tempted to buy a few items to take home with you. If your check in luggage does not have enough room for any extras, then make certain that you will be able to carry on the items you purchase. An alternative is to purchase items and have them shipped to you, albeit it’s a bit costly.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and soon your Hawaii vacation will have to come to an end. It’s therefore essential to prepare for your return home so that you are not delayed at the airport. When leaving Hawaii, you will be subjected to additional screening to make sure that you don’t take prohibited items back to the main land or your country. Verify that the items you intend to take back home are not against the rules to avoid complications.

If you follow the above Hawaii travel tips, you will appreciate visiting Hawaii and will want to go back time and again.

Right now Vancouver is a buzz with the 2010 Olympic Games. Some events are taking place almost on my doorstep. Everywhere you go you see the signs. There are people wearing red and white scarfs, mittens, sweat shirts and other Olympic attire. Vehicles are supporting flags, stores and businesses are dressed for the occasion too. There is something going on somewhere all of the time with entertainment being offered for people to enjoy in communities around the Lower mainland.

Coal Harbour, Vancouver, Canada

At anytime Vancouver is a beautiful city. The summers are usually pretty good with regards to weather with lots of outdoor activities and entertainment. Normally in the winter and early spring you can go skiing in the morning at one of the local mountains and be practicing your golf swing on one of the local golf courses in the afternoon. You have the majestic mountains to the North side and the ocean to the South.

Typically in February we would still be getting new snow falls on the mountains, but wouldn’t you know it…this year the big Olympics year we have less snow on our mountains than normal for this time of year. 2010 is a year that the extra snow would have really been appreciated. There are times when local skiing can go on until May but by then many of the skier and snowboarders are often ready to move on to the next season’s sporting activities with boating, fishing, hang gliding, motor biking, mountain biking etc often leaving the snow on the mountains for the tourists only to enjoy.

There are lots of interesting places to visit here in Vancouver from Stanley Park with its many vantage points for photo opportunities, multitude of trees and plants, rose gardens, the Malkin Bowl Theater, its totem poles, and horse drawn rides around the park. Not to forget the aquarium with the Beluga whales, cute otters and other creatures. There are artists that you can watch paint and sell their pictures in the open air of Stanley Park.

A snow shortage

Very close by you will find the downtown area with its many shops and fine dining restaurants. Gas Town is a popular place with tourists as well as Granville Island Market. At Granville Island you will find interesting gifts, you can see glass blowing, and other crafts being done, it’s a great place if you are looking to find something unique.

On Vancouver’s North Shore there are a number of great places not to miss; including Capilano Suspension Bridge and if you are in good shape and up for a challenge there’s the Grouse Grind an extremely popular but challenging hike up to Grouse Mountain. Most tourists will prefer to get to the top on the gondola. Grouse Mountain is somewhere that I always make sure that my first time visitors experience.

You may even see some bears. I have seen bears several times from the gondola. One time during the months of May I saw a mother bear and her 3 little cubs directly below us on a decent in the grouse sky ride. I am told that it is unusual to see a mother with 3 cubs. One of my favourite times to take a trip up Grouse Mountain is on a clear day during the early spring when there is still snow on the mountain. We went up one Xmas time and it was really magical, we went for a sleigh ride through the beautiful snow laden trees. There was an outdoor skating rink, Santa’s workshop, real reindeer and a fire pit where you could go warm up, not to mention the huge Xmas tree in the foyer of the beautiful lodge. It’s great to go in and have a hot chocolate while looking out at the beauty of the winter scene and over the city.

The other time and maybe my very favorite is during the summer. I like going up late afternoon or early evening when you still have the sun and warmth, you can take a walk, visit the Theater in the Sky or relax on the huge deck. This is a time when you can really appreciate the beautiful panoramic views. If you look to the East you will see the magnificent snow capped Mount Baker against the blue Sky and then to watch as darkness starts to fall; the city lights come to life like sparkling jewels, it really is a beautiful site to see.

Today is February 14th Valentine’s Day and I took a couple of pictures near my home. It could certainly be mistaken for April or May. Just up the street the Cherry blossom Trees are already pink and about to come into full bloom. This time last year or at least no more than a couple of weeks earlier I took some other pictures at my son’s home which is about half an hour from where I live. What a difference!
It just goes to show all the planning in the world cannot control the weather.

Beauty and Culture combined

Experience the beauty of Greece

When we think of Greece most of us will visualize the whitewashed houses and the domed Churches framed by the deep blue Mediterranean Sea as a backdrop. Greece is a cosmopolitan destination where the visitors are predominantly from the UK and other parts of Europe. This is the type of destination that visitors from other parts of the world may decide to do as a part of a European Tour maybe when they retire, when they have a bit more time to really enjoy.

Many of us will have been enthralled with the beauty of Greece from movies such as Mama-Mia and The sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Santorini has probably the most famous images and a must to visit on anyone’s list that plans to visit Greece.

Much has been written about Greece’s marvelous diverse and robust invention that has become today’s Grecian society, and yet millions of people have not had the chance to explore this mythic isthmus; well thought-out to be the cradle of Western civilization and the present democratic system.

At first, a journey to Greece may seem like an experience that will be greeted by distinct standing relics of ancient Greece without anything

Visit the beautiful Greek Islands

modern to write home about. If you explore the current Grecian society, you will be mesmerized by the expansive urban conurbation of today’s Grecian Cities and yet the major historic attractions remain entrenched in the modern day fray and cultural fine distinctions of a tumultuous history are written between the walls and the dazzling “azure” Aegean Sea.

Greece’s history dates as far back as far as 6000 B.C, when the earliest traces of a city-state were recognized. This was during the Neolithic Period dominated by the Minoan and Mycenaean Kingdoms. Later tales were the Dorian invasions and the Dark Ages. It’s a widely accepted notion that Greece enjoyed its most successful and renowned Classical and Hellenistic Periods between 500 and 146 B.C. This is the period when Plato, Socrates and Democracy flourished and the Parthenon and Acropolis were erected in Athens. This was followed by the Roman takeover as it appears in the intermediary art and structural design, together with the combination of mythologies.

The Turks and Byzantines overrun Greece during the contemporary period and a cultural resurgence and War of Independence in 1821 paved way for the reunification and admiration of Greek culture. Fortunately, the Greek culture still thrives to date.
Land attractions in Greece

Not counting a key attraction like the Parthenon, Greece is endowed with a superfluity of extra sites and wonders distinctive to Greece’s cultural tradition. If you want to get a sacred experience, the northern Thessaly town of Meteora (located in the northern region) offers a wonderful spiritual experience. Make your way to the cliff-top monasteries by mountaineering the fixed stone stairs. Another popular way of reaching the enormous heights is through rock climbing, becoming a rather popular sport nowadays

A visit to the archaeological wonder at Delphi will leave you overwhelmed with the cultural richness of Greece. The earliest Greeks claimed this was the middle of the known world. You will also be enthralled by Nafplio, Greece’s ex-capital. Within spitting distance are the primeval Mycenae civilization and the famed theatre found in Epidaurus.

Sea Attractions in Greece

Almost 1400 Greek islands await your exploration. A great deal of Grecian history can be traced in the sea and business centers of the seven land mass clusters. The Odyssey and Homer’s Iliad traverse coastlines and ports that you can take a trip to. The most thronged islands are Crete and Santorini. Experience wild parties at the iniquitous island of Mykonos and don’t forget to make a stopover at the Ionian Islands, with lush vegetation and white sands. All island regions have something rather exceptional and fascinating to offer, so don’t leave out this element of your tour of discovery!

Greece is satiated with a rich history and way of life. All areas of this ancient nation are rich with unique adventures. A tour of Greece is not only a voyage of the past, but one of modernity and development. Become familiar with the reincarnation of the foundations of the democracy in Greece!

The Caribbean Islands offers something for everyone, whether you are looking for a honeymoon getaway or family vacation destination. The Caribbean comprises of a group of islands, for instance the Bahamas and Jamaica.

Snorkel in the Caribbean

The resort rooms come in all sizes, shapes, and styles suitable for families on vacation, honeymooners and romantic getaways. One reason why tourists flock the Caribbean is because of its beautiful beachfront resorts. Your Caribbean vacation resort may be sited precisely along the beach, giving you unlimited access to the beach front walks and vistas.

Those seeking romantic getaways and privacy or a more relaxing quiet pace will find comfort in the fact that some resorts have age restrictions. For instance, some of the vacation resorts restrict entry to those aged eighteen and below. In contrast, some resorts are also specifically intended for the many families on vacation.

From the above, it’s obvious that the Caribbean offers something for everyone. If you haven’t already done so make a plan to have one of the most memorable experiences by visiting such beautiful beaches.
As you yourself are cruising over 50, how about thinking about a cruise specifically tailored to the over 50 crowd? There are all kinds of cruises out there, ones filled with oodles of kids, to bursting with party animals. Neither of these are the stage you’re at, so why be surrounded with people and activities that won’t interest you? The over 50 crowd has a maturity and sophistication all its own, yet is still eager to be active and engaged. A cruise can be memorable and fun, and most importantly relaxing and stress-free. You’ve earned it and now’s your time!

The world awaits you!

You may have had your standard set of family vacations over the years and traveled to a few places on business as well, but what about the places you’ve had bookmarked in your mind that you’d like to see? Want to travel to the Arctic or Antarctic, or someplace warm, such as Hawaii, the Caribbean or Costa Rica? How about a European cruise or one to the Galapagos Islands, or the Nile River? There are tons of inviting destinations to choose from. The world is literally your oyster in the world of cruising.Studies also show that by 2020, one out of every two travelers will be over 50 years old, so this is good news for you. You are a target market that is growing, and the travel industry will be increasingly dependent on your business.Activities and offerings

As an over 50 traveler, you have a great deal of life experience and have likely developed a wide variety of interests. Some of the interesting events that a cruise can offer are a variety of sports, music, dancing, art, wine appreciation, prominent speakers, lively entertainment if you choose, and lectures providing history and other details about the ports that the ship will visit. You can opt for shorter or longer cruises and then select from there the level of activity you wish to pursue.

Many people enjoy the ports of call. It’s a great way to check out new locations and decide if you would like to return another time to spend your vacation there. However, if you choose you can stay on board the ship to enjoy the many facilities provided there.

Most of the cruise lines also offer amenities for you to keep up your fitness regime with or just to pamper yourself. Gyms, fitness centers and spas are common on board, so mix this in with your menu of entertainment and excursions. The cruise lines also have a wide variety of dining options, and cater to special diets as well. This is important for those pursuing a healthier lifestyle that they wish to maintain.

A helpful hint – when searching for the right cruise for you don’t be put off by the term ‘senior’ – most companies now are terming 55 & up, a senior category. Oftentimes with the cruise lines, they only require one person to be 55 years old or older. The great news is that these categories are often discounted, so not only can you get away for a relaxing, fun time, but you can also save money doing it!
Keep on Cruising!
